Gusto-101

Our Dinner at Gusto-101

Tucked away behind the Bier Market is a small gem of a restaurant that Sarah and I had the pleasure of dining at! Very modern and rustic with its interior. The food matches the decor to a T! Rustic but beautifully delicious. We  started off with two cocktails. I got the "vespino" (spirit vodka, hibiscus syrup and mint) and Sarah got the "Junior Zagato" with Jaral dek Berrio Mezcal, house made ginger beer, agave nectar and cucumber. They were both strong and tasty, nothing over the top but no complaints here.

Next we received our appetizers. Fresh ricotta cheese folded with maldon salt and finely chopped fresh herbs served with grilled ciabatta bread and a wonderful mixed micro green salad, such a simple thing, but wonderfully executed . Along side that we had the beef tenderloin carpaccio. Sliced with onion skin thinness and perfectly seared and seasoned. The fat marbled through the beef made it melt in your mouth and the accents of arugula, pecorino and truffled white means made it all the more delectable!

Moving on to our main event! We enjoyed the crispy fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus and the "spinaci"pizza. The Crispy potatoes were wonderfully seasoned and generously coated in breadcrumbs and parmigiano. The asparagus were tasty but a little over cooked for my taste. The Pizza was wonderful, thin and crispy but perfectly soggy at the same time! Cooked spinach, ricotta cheese and confit garlic! Perfect combination of wonderful on a pizza crust! A great spot for 2 to share dinner for under $100.00. Oh and I cant forget about there "VINI DI GUSTO - Gusto’s own wine on tap at $1 per ounce!" Sarah and I enjoyed their Pinot Grigio and at a buck an ounce...who could complain :)
